Spaghetti bolognese reminds me the college time. Ground meat and canned sauce were the basis of my diet. I know, I know…. It was a long time ago. In the era of me being effortlessly fit and when the term “youtube” wasn’t widely known yet.
My husband still asks me nostalgically to make this dish once in a while. These days, I try a little bit harder than going to the nearest grocery and prepare my own bolognese sauce. I’ve tested many options and this one is the best. The whole trick is about adding a decent amount of smoked bacon, which changes the flavor completely. It’s easy, tasty and substantial. The recipe below provides the whole pot of steaming pasta bolognese that is enough for us for a couple of days. Reheated is even better.
